Be it your local church bake sale, lemonade stand, or an international organization, its no secret that doing big things sometimes takes big money.
Below are some tips to make your fund raising efforts as lucrative as possible:
Try online! Use social media to your advantage. Tell everyone you know, and ask them to spread the word as well.
Be sure to advertise, more than you think you have to.
Start early! Plan ahead.
Set a goal. If you´re getting close- increase it.
Create the right team. Chances are, you know (or know of) experts in a really wide variety of fields. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Also, don’t be afraid to ask companies- many have funds set aside for charitable contributions. Including your employer! Requesting dollar matching is a great way to ask.
Make it fun! People love to go to parties, play games, and meet new people. If they can do that while contributing to a worthy cause, its a win-win. And any previous success only increases the chances of a success in future fundraising events.
Advertise in the news paper! Its cheaper than you think. Sunday usually has the highest circulation. While you´re at it, why not try the radio too?
Last but most certainly not least, there are crowd funding websites out there that have raised, literally, billions of dollars for their users. Forbes has compiled a user guide and top ten list: here.
Hope this helps!
