Two Countries, No Home

Above is a link to a New York Times article, describing difficulties that plague a Mexican who grew up in the United States then returned to Mexico to peruse better possible opportunities.

What is so sad is that a person can be a legitimate member of any or multiple societies, yet feel uncategorized and not entirely welcomed by any.

Whether it be government programs or social segmentation, we find fellow members of the human family faced with unnecessary discrimination because of their ethnicity and geographic background.

What needs to become a focus of ours as individuals and as organized societies is how to integrate the global community, so that not one of us feels out of place because of their nation of origin.

What’s good for the goose, is good for the gander.
